Yoga Studio de Pijp is a small and intimate studio in the heart of the always bustling pijp. The studio is located on the Frans Halsstraat which is just located in between Heinekenplein en Museumplein. The Frans Halsstraat is a fairly quiet street surrounded with beautiful trees which already gives you a relaxed feeling when arriving at the studio. The studio radiates a warm homely feeling as soon as you enter. The tea is always ready should you need some extra time to calm down from the hustle and bustle of the city. They are a laid back studio where everyone is welcome. Whether you have been doing yoga for years or have never done yoga before, the most important thing is that you feel at home and can be just who you are. Yoga is personal for everyone and always a journey of self-awareness and connection. They hope that you find this connection in a fun and unique way every time that you come by. They have a team of dedicated and professional teachers who are here to support you during this journey. They encourage students to share their personal experience before or after the class. Connection is key! The classes are small with max 11 people including teacher. This gives them the opportunity to give that personal and individual attention and most importantly a safe practice to everyone. At Yoga Studio de Pijp you can expect traditional yoga. All teachers teach in their own unique way. Still in all practices you can expect a bit of meditation and attention to breathing so you can really make that deeper connection with yourself.

About the Team

Farrah opened Yoga Studio de Pijp in the spring of 2017. She started her yoga journey ten years ago. After seven years of teaching and learning at different studios in Amsterdam she was ready to create her own community in her neigbourhood The Pijp. Her motto is to create an environment where everyone is welcome, no matter what your background or baggage is. A place where you can really feel at home without any judgement. Where you can have that traditional yoga to calm the mind and feel good about yourself. Now three years later she and a great team of teachers have created a beautiful community with Yoga Studio de Pijp. At the moment the team at Yoga Studio de Pijp counts nine lovely teachers. All warmhearted, passionate and dedicated teachers coming from different backgrounds. With a extensive choice of classes and teachers they have something for everyone.

Questions and Answers

Why should I visit Yoga Studio de Pijp?

The classes are small with max eleven people in the class which makes this a very intimate practice where everyone can get individual attention.

What should I know of the first visit?

Coming to the studio for the first time? Please make sure that you come ten minutes earlier to start your practice as relaxed as possible. Perhaps you need to share information about a injury or tell the teacher you are pregnant. Then this gives you enough time to talk to the teachers and for her to give you advice for during your practice.

Please come on time! The studio only has one practice room and door closes on the time to end on time. If you're late, please don't pull or knock on the door. This is very disturbing!

Do I need to bring any sport equipment or is it possible to borrow it at the facility?

They provide mats, props, tea and water at the studio. Just make sure that you wear something comfortable to move into. You can change in the dressing rooms.

What do I need to do if I have booked something but am not able to come?

You can cancel the class four hours prior to the class without any cancelation fees. When cancelleling after the four hours your spot will be charged from your card or your single class will be lost. You can always text or email. +31651500400 or info@yogastudiodepijp.nl

What else should I know of?

The studio is in an old building. Sometimes it might be a bit challenging to create warmth. If you get cold easily, wear an extra warm sweater and socks for the Restorative and Yin classes.
