NEW DATE: Amenti Theatre Night is back! On Friday 12 April 2024 we are bringing you our ELEMENTAL EXCHANGE EDITION!

Right here in our own studio in Rotterdam, we will gather with our squad to bring you the MAGIC.

Embodying the magic of being, through improvised dance performances.

We perform our Elemental Exchange regularly at various festivals and events in the Netherlands and abroad. With this Amenti Theatre Night, we are bringing it home. Experience an independent, intimate and inspiring performance night, where a multitude of dancers of Amenti Theatre Company will bring you real and personal stories, through the intuitive power of our improvisation and dance artistry.

ELEMENTAL EXCHANGE

is an improvisation-based performance concept by Gil The Grid. As a Hip Hop theatre maker, Gil broadened the perspective of what theatre can mean - and thus, he developed the concept of the Elemental Exchange - where he uses his intuition to bring dancers together. As the selecta (DJ), Gil chooses music on the spot for the different dancers. The Elemental Exchange consists out of solo's and, the most important element as the name states, exchanges/meetings between dancers. Two souls (or more) come together on the floor, coming from different backgrounds, carrying their individual elements. In this bringing together of worlds, communication takes place, allowing the unknown.

The power and beauty of our Elemental Exchanges is that nobody, not the dancers nor the audience, knows what will happen. The performers must step in open, trusting themselves, each other, and the moment, to move from intuition so that magic can occur.

We organize the Amenti Theatre Nights because we felt the urgent need to create and share our art with our community on our own terms, in our own space. We choose the evening's themes and artists. Through the Amenti Theatre Nights, we want to provide a safe space to experience art, connect, learn, and be inspired.
