Leg strengthening & Hip opening

This class starts off with a practice to support your immune system & concentration using pranayama, kriya, cyclic twisting and meditation. From there Robert leads you through Suryanamasakar and standing poses to help you strengthen the legs in a very effective way.

We then practice different forward bends in a seated position. Robert dives deeper into Triang Mukhaikapada Paschimattanasana and explain why and how he uses Pralaya-based Janu Sirsasana instead, as a more efficient and safe series of asanas.

At the end of class we focus on hip opening using a stack of blocks and cyclic twisting. And we enjoy a short savanna in silence to relax and restore.

This class is part of Yogasite's 200H & 300H Teacher Training Programme. In order for this class to count toward certification, students are asked to answer the following question:

"Why does Robert prefer to replace Triang Mukhaikapada Paschimattanasana for a few other Pralaya Yoga postures?"
