Description:

Ian Daishi Koebner has practiced Zen for over 20 years and is a Hōshi (dharma holder) at the Village Zendo, White Plum Asanga, in New York City where he grew up. At Melt he will offer a zazenkai, a half-day retreat, with ample periods of meditation, a Dharma talk, and time for reflection.

The purpose of zazenkai is to devote an extended period of time to meditation. Unless something compelling calls you away, please commit to the entire retreat.

Participation is open to all. Instruction will be in English. Practitioners and students of various traditions are welcome to join at whatever level of commitment they wish. People of different cultures, colors, abilities, ages, identifications, and beliefs who can practice within the guidelines for meditation and harmonious practice are welcome.

Give yourself to the opportunity to slow down, to step away from your habitual ways of being, and appreciate your life as it presents itself moment to moment.

*Melt does not have meditation cushions, so participants must bring their own. Please feel free to sit on whatever will best support your practice – meditation cushions or benches, as well as folding chairs are all perfectly acceptable.

Cost: The suggested fee is €25. Please consider any contribution you can afford if this is too much for you at this time. Your participation will be much appreciated. U can pay cash or with card at the studio.
