About
Budokon (BDK) style yoga is a modern yoga style which unites the ancient tradition of self inquiry with modern mixed movement.
We’ll work on mobility, strength, focus and coordination in a slow and controlled way. We’ll explore and discover by challenging ourselves to go into places we don’t go that often. Increasing mind body connection. By slowing down and keeping the focus and the eye for detail the mind virtually has no time other than to be completely engaged to that what’s going on right NOW. Working from and continuously getting back to our center of gravity.
The foundation of this style is the Budokon Yoga Primary Series. This series consists of 7 sections of slow and controlled movements designed to improve mobility, agility, flexibility and strength. We will use yoga postures and some animal locomotion forms. The emphasis is on the transitions from posture to posture, rather than the holding of postures. These exercises are meant to train balance and strength through focus and control.
Some yoga or movement background is recommended.
Online stream
There is an online stream available for this activity. To participate, take the following steps:
- This studio uses Zoom as their streaming provider to online stream their activities. Download the according software or app to your laptop, tablet or smartphone.
- The access to the online stream is available 15 minutes before the start of the activity. You can find the link for the online stream in your online profile under “My bookings”. With a click on “Join online stream now” you will be forwarded to the corresponding page and you join the activity online!
- Specific streaming providers, e.g. Zoom, allow participants to see each other through the video camera. If you do not want to show yourself or the personal environment, you can deactivate the camera function or cover the camera. The name you enter when you join the online meeting room will be shown to other participants. However, you can change your name at any time (e.g. only specify the initials).
